General Mills celebrated 150 years in business in 2016 and was looking to highlight their many products they have developed over the years. From a single flour mill to over 100 brands in 100 countries, the General Mills story is a one of a kind story that started on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN.

The task was to create an informational wall display from a list of businesses the class was given. I chose General Mills and started my research. There was so much information and highlights in the  past 150 years plus of General Mills that it was difficult to narrow it down to an appropriate amount for design. I initially chose 20 points of interest to display. Next was brainstorming a layout design to make it readable. Initially I had a linear layout by dates and it was not visually appealing and too much information in a horizontal row. I then changed my layout to an oval design starting with the beginning of General Mills in 1866. In the end I narrowed the highlights down to the top 10 which made it much more readable and engaging for a wall display. The mockup really brought it to life.
